Understanding Colocation and Managed Server Hosting
Server hosting is also known as colocation (collocation, co location, co-location or colo). Server Hosting / Colocation services are provided when you place any server or other networking device such as a firewall, switch or router into a rack or cabinet at a datacenter facility.
In addition to providing rack space, we also provide the supporting routing, power and bandwidth/connectivity required to make the server accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
Colocation services provide any company (large or small) with a fantastic alternative to hosting servers in their office environment. Generally speaking, most corporate office parks and commercial buildings are more susceptible to unannounced, extended power and connectivity outages. This not only cripples productivity, but can easily be avoided by moving critical systems to a remote datacenter location that is accessible from anywhere, anytime, day or night.
Mosaic offers a variety of different space options for a full range of client colocation services needs. Our clients pay a monthly fee plus setup for the space (number of Rack Units or U space), total power provided and bandwidth connection.
